The Move/Our Seouls At A Garden.

Moving. Moving further away from the people who dearly care. Further away from those who love and want to be loved.

Our Seouls At A Garden.

Shortly after the above commotion, went to have dinner at Seoul Garden with Mindy, James, Liting, Brandon and Shawn. But what really seems to be catching me is the preparation.

This was the original plan:

Meet at Woodlands MRT at 7+.

Simple yesyes? Let's complicate things.

Problem: Liting wants to watch a movie after that.
Solution: I told her that she has to ask for everyone's approval and not ask me alone.

Problem: Shawn "sprained" his ankle earlier today.
Solution: He never really sprained his ankle. He just had a really bad cut on it. He walks FINE.

Problem: James has "time" problems.
Solution: The problem was not the time, it was his own speculation of bad things that would happen (such as waking up late for work the next day) which never really happened.

Problem: Shawn could only pay 15 dollars for his share.
Solution: I covered the remaining for him.

Wow, look at all those problems. Throw them at me and they're nothing. MUAHAHAHA. I sound conceited but hey, who wouldn't get stressed at this? Everything really turned out alright, we all enjoyed ourselves, had fun eating and laughing over Justin Bieber jokes and other stupid things that Shawn mentioned, such as "Is this egg edible?"

Here are the snapshots of the day.

Liting and Mindy.
Why does Mindy look ermm, conniving?

Waiting for food and soup and a decent table.

Shawn: *thinking* no one will know I'm with Justin Bieber.

The Brandon, the food, and the hand that brings it to the mouth.

So yes, that is definitely a fun dinner indeed. After which we all slacked around at Yew Tee Macs where there are more pics. Yes more pics. More pics, discussion over Singapore Idol winner, and more Justin Bieber jokes.

We Are Not Rigid.

First and foremost.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Olrightyo. That aside, Christmas was well...wonderful. Mine spent without the presents but hey, I'd rather time with people whom I can hold something immaterial than to hold something material that can't last time. Ahh. Christmas eve spent with Shawn, Vivian, Charmaine, Brandon, Liting, Jolene, Erwin and Jiong Wen.

Okay so Christmas was sorta fun with everyone around just crapping around and being ourselves. Watching movies (or at least half ourselves watching), eating, and whatever else. Well perhaps the real fun began when it was 12.00+, after everyone but me, Shawn, Vivian, Charmaine and Brandon.

That's when we watched February 29, some Korean horror movie that I EXPECTED would scare the shit out of me AT LEAST once. Watching the movie, I slowly got bored and tired, finding it hard to keep my eyes wide open. At one point of the movie, I actually burst into laughter at one of the "scary" scenes where the ghost appears and strangles the main character Jiyeon.
February 29

I mean seriously, being half-asleep desperately trying to keep eyes open to watch a horror movie is a comical idea. And when the scary scenes come, you don't get frightened. It just bores you even more! Shawn was a real funny ass. He got scared at almost ALL the cheap scares. Yeah, CHEAP scares, that's what Brandon and Shawn called it. It's considered a cheap scare if the music, atmosphere and build up leads to a mere "pat on the back" moment from a familiar character, instead of the ghost's appearance.

Still can't get over the strangling scenes. Seriously can't take it, it's unbelievably funny. Even though the storyline isn't all too amazing (it was quite alright), I find the coda of the movie really poignant. Let me rephrase that, I liked the ending of the story. It talks about how, truth is a relative thing and how by knowing two truths we can piece together our own view of the story. I find that this was by far the only redeeming reason to watch the movie as whole. Apart from that, the rest of the aspects of the movie, they are quite mediocre. Not horrible, but not amazing either.

That aside, I've been having my own thoughts about Christmas. Christmas is well, largely a religious celebration of the birth of Christ. Before Christmas, I was sort of disturbed over this idea of celebrating over his mere birth. But it wasn't like that after a while. I realised that you don't need to be Christian or Catholic, nor religious for that matter to celebrate Christmas. Over time, Christmas has become a celebration that encompasses religion and ethnicity. We are no longer restricted. We are not rigid. We celebrate. The only pre-requisite? Being alive and of sane mind. Well, sane mind may not be a requirement either.

But point is, anyone can celebrate Christmas. I look back at myself and call myself an idiot for not wanting to celebrate Christmas because it was religiously oriented. Those are my musings of the day. Christmas is Christmas. We celebrate because it brings us all together.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Moments.

Today, we celebrate Keryn's 15th birthday. This lot of us, myself, the birthday girl herself, Azhari and Hui Cheang. Since me, Azhari and Hui Cheang are already married (Azhari says we're divorced but NOOO), Keryn becomes our child on this day! XD

So essentially today's like a family outing and celebrating Keryn's birthday. The link below is the public link to today's album. You don't need a facebook account to view this album ^^.

Today is a day well, Azhari pranks call Hui Cheang and Keryn to coming earlier, my treat to Mrs Fields exclusively for her, birthday girl's failing sense of direction (despite being a Pure geog student), the "Why are we still standing here?" moments, and many others. Much more can still be said but let's leave it at that. :D
Family photo! ♥

Yet at the end of the day I left empty.

Oh and to finally make this proper.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR KERYN!

Meow.

Hello you! Ye who read this!
Today, I am a happy boy, yes once in a long while I am actually pretty happy! : D

And you'll wonder why (Isn't why the annoying question that pops up in everyone's heads? (like an annoying pimple?)).

Well, I've spent my whole morning watching "Nyan Koi!"

Plot
This anime series is about a high-school boy named Junpei Kosaka who hates cats and has an allergy to them. However, his high school crush (the girl with the biggest eyes in the above picture) Mizuno Kaede, loves cats. One fine day walking home, Junpei accidentally kicks an empty can and accidentally breaks the local guardian deity of cats (neko jizo-sama). After that incident, he can understand what cats around him are saying, including his own ill-tempered family cat, Nyamsus. On top of this, if he does not grant the 100 requests from cats, he will transform into a cat himself and die of his allergies.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So yes, I've enjoyed this series in many ways, but my initial reason to watch this series was because it was of the harem genre. Please do look it up on wikipedia or something. Like most harem animes, there is it's share of ecchi scenes in the series, but not as heavy as say Rosario+Vampire (WHICH IS AWESOME TOO BTW), yet just good enough to make a decent person laugh.

Yet this series is unlike what I've expected since there are very nice vignettes of insightful thoughts in life, especially by the protagonist. His touching words seem to have caught the hearts of many in the story (and cats too!). Largely because of that, Junpei Kosaka becomes a very likable character despite being the source of affection by largely all of the girls in the series.

His words usually become the reason why girls in the series take a liking for him and end up being by his side willing to help him in anyway to fulfill those 100 wishes. Which pretty much means that along the course of the series there are indeed romantic scenes. Most of which usually end in a comic foil, save for a select few scenes which might touch your heart too.

Apart from the romance and the number of girls eyeing on him, I've also enjoyed the series humour. The humour is really ridiculous, quirky and definitely downright amusing. It also employs the classic "cloud fight" gag in which Junpei would get involved in some beating with usually Kanako Sumiyoshi or Nagi Ichinose over something he did with or to other girls other than Mizuno Kaede.
The classic cloud fight.

But this series shines in the humour department for being out of the ordinary, especially for times where a character is unusually clueless (as is the case for this scene) and turns into a white figure with no detailed drawing to it's character. Look at the change here:

See how the character design changes over the scene? This is probably one of the more outstanding source of humour of the series. Probably the only one to make me laugh like an idiot in the middle of the morning. This one definitely wins me for being out of the ordinary.

Here are some other humour scenes which look especially funny.
Junpei's "Allergy radar"

This look on Junpei's face ALWAYS cracks me up

What a great way to show a reaction.

Well you have to watch the series to understand that 3rd one but the first two are especially funny. Apart from that, the humour is drawn from ecchi scenes which is considered quite normal for it's genre.

Overall, I've really enjoyed this series for it's humour, decent fanservice/ecchi, and definitely for the flow and story progression. There aren't any "wasted" episodes in which the story doesn't move, every single one was funny and/or relevant to the story. It's romance, while not powerful, is still very much there. It's quite a comedic romance story with more focus on comedy.

Ratings:
Plot: 4/5
Humour: 5/5
Ecchi: 4/5

You may not like my basis for rating the series but it's okay, this is just what I look out for any in anime series unless it is stated in it's genre that there is no comedy nor romance nor ecchi for that matter.

Oh, and on a final note, the OPENING IS EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE : D

Lost and Idle.

Lost and Idle. Help me. Bring me with you, in your lives, where at least mine wouldn't lose meaning on it's own.
